A Stakeholder View of Corporate Governance

This conceptual paper questions traditional measures of corporate governance. In considering only the shareholder, the relative power, urgency and legitimacy of the other stakeholders are ignored. The timing and particular context are also not attended to by governance measures. We propose corporate governance be viewed as a dynamic process, evolving in response to diverse stakeholder expectations, to enhance firm reputation.
